Voters across the province have the opportunity to vote Green this election. It is in the public interest for Nova Scotians to hear from Greens, to learn about the Party, its values and policy positions.
Despite this, Anthony Edmonds has not been included in the televised party leader debates or events which bring significant visibility to those who are invited to participate.
Greens are the advocates for overlooked issues before mainstream politics catches up, such as being ahead of the consensus on climate change, marriage equality, and cannabis legalisation. Based on this track record, Greens will be a much-needed alternative voice in the Legislature bringing issues to the forefront.
Nova Scotia faces current, overlapping crises of affordability, with basic needs out of reach for many; of public health and wellbeing, with our healthcare systems stretched to a breaking point; of education, not only in schools but also of lifelong education, which hinders efforts at Reconciliation and respecting diversity; of trust in public institutions, with unprecedented disengagement and widespread cynicism; and of a livable future, the climate crisis.
The Green Party will be releasing our full 2024 election platform in the coming days, bringing collaborative, sustainable solutions for each of these five crises.
“Greens will bring a fresh perspective into the House of Assembly, and can fundamentally change the political landscape in our province, in a way that electing one more MLA from another party simply would not,” says Anthony Edmonds, candidate for Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank, and leader of the GPNS.
Edmonds will be on Twitter/X tonight, following along with the leaders debate on CBC starting at 6 p.m. AT on. You can find his reactions and comments at @ALEdmonds and @NSGreens.
