June 2nd, 2026 (Chéticamp) The Green Party of Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Nik Boisvert (they/them) is now registered as our candidate for the by-election in the district of Chéticamp-Margarees-Pleasant Bay. Nik is an entrepreneur, arts worker, union organizer and parent who grew up in Terre Noire. Houston Government Threatens Our Democracy And Disrespects Reconciliation Efforts With Bill 127

The Green Party of Nova Scotia is alarmed at the recent passage of Bill 127, named the “Protect Nova Scotians Act” ironically enough, in a woefully short eight-day sitting of the NS Legislature. This bill criminalizes the actions of Mi’kmaw land defenders asserting their treaty rights at Tqamuoweye’katik (Hunter’s Mountain), where they’ve gathered to oppose destructive and unilateral clearcutting practices on Mi’kmaw territory.
