2025 GPNS Officer Election Results: Meet Our New Executive!

The Green Party of Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting took place on September 27th, 2025 at the Beaver Bank Kinsac Community Centre. Anthony Edmonds successfully passed his leadership review and remains Leader of the GPNS.

Executive elections were also held at this meeting; your new GPNS executive is as follows:

Co-President (2-year term*) Sean MacGillivray

Co-President (1-year term*) Matthew Penney

Membership Director: Andre Anderson

Governance Director: Bill Matheson

Finance Director: Amethyste Hamel-Gregory

We’re grateful to our guest speaker Donna Crossland and to all the members who participated. With some fresh faces in our newly-elected Executive, we’re hopeful for big things for the GPNS in 2026 and beyond!

* Normally, GPNS co-presidents are elected in alternating years for two-year terms, to ensure continuity of governance. Where there was only one interim Co-President at the time of the Executive election, two Co-Presidents were elected, one with a one-year term and the other with a two-year term, again to ensure continuity. Candidates were apprised of their options and chose which term they wanted to offer for before being formally nominated.
