Gadfly Stratton

Halifax Atlantic

Gadfly Stratton (he/they) is an environmental scientist who has worked with universities, unions, and non-profits as an environmental researcher, educator, and social justice advocate. His published research focuses on invasive and at-risk fish species policy, and how to tailor outreach to encourage local participation in environmental stewardship. He is also frequently invited to give talks and lead workshops on the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion to international audiences, including this past May for the International Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species in Halifax, and the Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference in Minnesota this month. Gadfly knows that people thrive when we commit to empowering our communities through education, social justice, a green economy, and strong environmental protections. He is proud to represent the riding of Halifax Atlantic, where he lives in Spryfield along with his partner of 17 years and their two dogs. Together, they love taking walks along the McIntosh Trail, going camping, and enjoying Nova Scotia’s natural beauty.
