Andre Anderson
I am a 10th-generation African Nova Scotian from The Preston Township and Upper Hammonds Plains, a filmmaker, entrepreneur, and community advocate. My experiences have taught me the importance of representation, community empowerment, and economic development. I’m running as a candidate for the Green Party of Canada in the Preston riding to bring about positive change, address issues of social justice, and amplify the voices of our community at a national level.
My political values are grounded in community focus, social justice, education, and co-operation. I believe in building opportunities that uplift and connect us, creating sustainable and inclusive growth in Preston and beyond.
With a background in business and arts, I am an alumnus of Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia Community College, and Neptune Theatre School. My service on the Halifax Community Investment Fund, African Nova Scotian Road to Economic Prosperity Committee, and Delmore “Buddy” Daye Youth Council reflects my commitment to co-operative economics and community development. In my free time, I enjoy writing and organizing film projects, often drawing inspiration from the rich stories and vibrant culture within Nova Scotia. Running for office allows me to further support and advocate for my community’s future.
