GPNS South Shore Region Meeting
March 15, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
All GPNS members in our South Shore Region are invited to a meeting on Sunday, March 15, 1-4 PM, at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre in Bridgewater. All GPNS members in the electoral districts of Chester-St. Margaret’s, Lunenburg, Lunenburg West, Queens, Shelburne, Argyle, and Yarmouth are encouraged to attend.
We will be meeting together with the Green Party of Canada association for the federal riding of South Shore-St. Margaret’s. 2019 federal candidate and leader of the GPNS Thomas Trappenberg will be with us, and he will be reporting on the recent election, as well as provincial issues and opportunities.
We will have a number of important items on the agenda. We will elect people to a number of roles:
- Convenor who chairs meetings of the Regional Division
- Regional Representative to be a voting member of the Executive of the GPNS
- Policy Networker to be a member of the Policy Committee (2 positions)
- Constituency Representatives (one from each of the electoral districts listed above)
We will also talk about the upcoming changes in our electoral boundaries for the next provincial election, candidate search for GPNS candidates on the South Shore, and our upcoming GPNS Convention and Annual General Meeting.
The Convention and AGM will be held on April 18 & 19 at the Mahone Bay Centre. There is no charge to attend, all members are welcome, and it will be an exciting weekend. We are hoping that members and supporters on the South Shore will be interested in helping to make this a great success. There will be lots of volunteer opportunities and we hope that we may be able to billet members from other parts of the province with kind local people.
If you have any questions, please reply to me at organizer@greenpartyns.ca or 902-476-0682. I’m the current Convenor for the South Shore, but I won’t be continuing in that role. I’m also an Organizer (the only one at this time) for the GPNS, so contact me with any questions about membership or any other issue.
Thanks,
Bill Matheson
