About The Guest Speaker

Donna Crossland is a retired Parks Canada biologist, Park Warden, past Vice President of Nature Nova Scotia, and naturalist. She lives in southwest Nova Scotia, close to the current massive Long Lake wildfire. She is leading efforts to safeguard NS’s remaining old-growth eastern hemlock forests from invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. She has also been a long advocate for protecting healthy forests in Nova Scotia and factoring climate change into ecological forestry practices.

Donna will talk about the urgent need to protect and promote healthy forests as vital, natural carbon sinks. We will hear from and discuss the crisis with Donna for an hour and a half.
