SUMMARY:GPNS Policy Conference 2018
DESCRIPTION:October 27\, 2018  |  9 am – 5 pm  | RSVP president.f@greenpartyns.ca \nPolicy Conference\, Green Party of Nova Scotia\nUpstairs from the Stone Soup Cafe\, 41 Water St\, Pictou\, NS B0K 1H0 \nOur proposed policies are ready. Find the final text of the proposed policy on our website: https://greenpartyns.ca/policies/draft-policies-2018/proposedfinaltext/. Password has been emailed to members. The policy has been open for discussion since August. Therefore\, the meeting will be an opportunity to vote or put the particular policy on pause. There will not be extensive wordsmithing of these policies at the conference. \nYour next opportunity to propose policy will be in the lead up to the AGM next spring. We anticipate policy discussions every six months from now on. Which is to say\, if you were looking forward to a deep discussion\, there will ample opportunities to come. In fact\, the best way to get involved with policy development is to get involved locally or regionally. Feel welcome to ask us how! \nUnderlying our policy efforts is the basic understanding that new information will lead to revised positions: we will continue to seek better evidence and information on which to base our decisions. Meanwhile\, we will continue to develop our processes to ensure that our public statements reflect your will\, that is\, the will of our members. \nWe look forward to seeing you in Pictou! If you are able to join us the evening before for a casual\, social gathering\, you are more than welcome! More details to come. Be watching your email or our Facebook page\, https://www.facebook.com/NSGreens/  \nSincerely\, \nEllen Durkee and Matthew Richey\,\nGPNS Policy Convenors

Peter has been associated with the Green Party for over 20 years\, sitting on federal councils and also running as a candidate numerous times\, and became the leader of the Green Party of PEI in 2012. Over the years\, he has never wavered from his belief that the Green Party provides a timeless outstanding innovative approach to politics which will secure a prosperous\, fulfilling and safe future for coming generations. As the first Green MLA ever elected in Prince Edward Island\, Peter is an inspiring and positive example of perseverance and commitment.\n\n\nDavid Coon is the first elected Green MLA in New Brunswick history\, and the third Green parliamentarian elected in Canada. After spending 25 years in the food service industry\, Lil was inspired in 2004 to follow her life long dream to open a restaurant\, The Wooden Monkey\, which brings Halifax the most environmentally conscious restaurant it’s ever had. Lil believes her business is the most powerful way for her to express her values\, serve her community\, and make a contribution to a healthier natural environment. Lil is also a trained Al Gore Presenter for The Climate Change Project for An Inconvenient Truth. She is a public speaker on organic sustainable foods systems and our future foods. Lil was also a mayoral candidate in the 2016 HRM Municipal elections.\n\n\n \n\n\nPlease join us for what is sure to be an uplifting and inspiring gathering of Greens.
