Doug has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (University of Waterloo) and a Master of Science (University of Toronto).
Doug is a foremost national and international consultant in environment and local economic development. He has designed municipal recycling and composting programs across Canada, including the conceptualization of the recycling/composting system in Nova Scotia and the municipal-specific programs in HRM and the Annapolis Valley. Elsewhere in Canada he has been retained by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment and provincial and municipal entities. Doug’s international clients include the World Bank, European Union, United Nations, Government of Canada and many development organizations; his work has mobilized over CAD 2.5 billion (equivalent) in green investment across a wide range of sectors and the creation of new legal frameworks and institutions to achieve green objectives.
