My name is Zac Crockatt. I am the Green Party Candidate for Annapolis.
I am 37 years old and after 11 years of service, I am retired from the Canadian Army. I am currently a carpenter by trade.
I decided to enter this election as a Green Party candidate because the Green Party represents the interests and values of the people and not corporate interest. Our communities need to be informed and educated on the facts, especially regarding monetary policy, and where the taxpayer dollars are spent. Further, we need to set goals as a community about renewable energy, education, and health care.
Since 1974 the Bank of Canada has stopped lending interest free money to provincial and municipal governments (COMER vs. The Bank of Canada). Private Banking interests have been put in front of our own monetary policy as a nation and as a people. We must come together and end this democratic decay by educating others and protecting people over corporations.
Clear cutting has been rampant and the sale of woodland to investors continues at a corporate pace.
Nova Scotia Power organization has destroyed our waterways throughout Annapolis County, with old technology and poor environmental stewardship. I want to start the process of having all dams removed in the county of Annapolis.
Our communities need more control over how they decide to harness clean energy.
The idea of destroying an ecosystem for renewable energy isn’t responsible environmental stewardship.
The state of our healthcare and education system can best be reflected by the establishment’s inability to VALUE the person. Minimum wage, $10.85/h, is a disgrace. It is a disgrace and a crime for example, to every parent who must trade off their time as a parent for the profit of a corporation, at anything less then $15/h
The Green Party represents the values of the people and not the corporations. Vote Green!
