A native of Brantford, Ontario, Torin has a long history with the Green Party at both the federal and provincial levels.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in 1997, Torin has always had a strong connection with Nova Scotia. He moved back to the province in 2006 and quickly established ties with the local Green movement; running for the GPNS in 2013 in Hants West.
Torin is excited to have the opportunity to give a voice to Green values in Hants West. [Quote] “When people think of the Green Party they inherently know that we represent the strong environmental choice; but, in addition to that we are fiscal conservatives and want to bring a strong economy to all Nova Scotians. A solid sustainable economy needs to be built on a foundation of responsible environmental choices.”
“If I had to sum up what I would bring to the Nova Scotia legislature I would use two words — integrity and stewardship.”
Torin has been an instructor in the Department of Theatre at Dalhousie University since 2009. He and his wife, Donna, live in Martock, NS where they run a small heritage farm with a focus on cashmere goats.
