Michealle is a momma-bear, a wife, a daughter and a sister; she is an entrepreneur, a DIYer and an employee at a Nova Scotia-based seafood company. Not so different than anyone else in many ways. In joining the Green party, she offers her influence and her voice to work toward strengthening and protecting the things & people we cherish and wants to be a participant in efforts to minimize damaging activities.
Michealle did not dream of being in politics (spare a period of time when she debated whether to grow up to be the Prime Minister or the Keeper of the Cup) but feels that it is important to participate when changes are required. She often reminds herself that ‘If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep getting what you’re getting’. By becoming a Green candidate, she believes she is providing a strong and relevant alternative to voters who also feel the need to do something different.
Through her Dad, Michealle has family ties to Nova Scotia. The Hanshaw homestead is in Bridgetown where family still lives today. Her NS relatives worked for many years at CFB Greenwood, Cornwallis and Shearwater. Michealle, her husband Andy and their three daughters have made their home in Nova Scotia for the past 10 years.
