Jessica Alexander is a vibrant community leader with a strong passion for social justice and economic development. She serves as Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Nova Scotia, and has been active in advocating environmental issues, peacemaking, and team-building for over 25 years on both the east and west coasts. Jessica has a degree in public policy studies from Mount Saint Vincent and a certificate in sustainability leadership from Dalhousie. She actively volunteers for the Canadian Cancer Society, Community Justice Society, her Union local, and the Research Ethics Board for the Nova Scotia Health Authority. She is amply qualified to represent Hammonds Plains-Lucasville in the legislature. Her priorities for the area include improving transportation, sustainable local economic development, citizen engagement, and water protection. Jessica and her family have lived in Nova Scotia for 17 years, and love the quality of life, access to nature, and community spirit present in our community. Jessica has four children with African-Canadian ancestry from a black pioneer family. She works as a public servant, is an avid surfer, cyclist, hiker, and artist.
